Trails - Tibetan Flag Temple
The Tibetan Flag Temple Hike takes you on a tranquil 25-minute walk from the property through a charming village and Himalayan cedar forest. After a leisurely walk through the village, you'll find yourself in the heart of the forest, where you'll encounter the Tibetan Flag Temple. Its colorful flags flutter in the mountain breeze, adding a touch of vibrancy to the serene surroundings.
Upon reaching the Tibetan Flag Temple, you'll discover a small community of monks living in humble meditation huts, deeply connected to their spiritual practice and the natural world around them. You can take a moment to absorb the serenity of this place, meditate, or simply enjoy the breathtaking views of the forested hills.
Trek - Guna Devi
Nestled in the serene Dhauladhar Range near Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, the Guna Devi Trail is a captivating experience that seamlessly blends nature's beauty, culture, and adventure.
This relatively easy trek, ideal for beginners and seasoned hikers, winds through lush cedar forests and rhododendron meadows. It typically takes 2-3 hours to ascend and 2 hours to descend, making it perfect for a half-day excursion. The trail culminates at the Guna Devi Temple, a small shrine dedicated to Goddess Guna Devi. This sacred site is revered by locals and visitors alike. Throughout the trek, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar Range and Kangra Valley, particularly stunning during the clear spring and summer months (March to June).
Triund Trek
Triund Trek is a popular and easy trekking trail situated in the Dhauladhar Range of the Himalayas, near McLeod Ganj in Himachal Pradesh, India. This trek is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and accessibility, making it a favorite among both novice and experienced trekkers. Covering approximately 9 kilometers from McLeod Ganj to Triund, the trail is moderately challenging, with well-marked paths and gradual ascents. Its highlights include breathtaking panoramic views of the Dhauladhar Mountains and Kangra Valley, the option to camp overnight amidst lush green meadows, mesmerizing sunsets and sunrises, a visit to Bhagsu Waterfall, and easy access from Dharamshala. Trails - Naddi River Point
Take a 40-minute walk through the Himalayan cedar forest to reach the Naddi River point. The walk through the forest is incredibly scenic, offering picturesque views of the Himalayan cedar trees and serene natural beauty.
The clear and icy waters of the river flow through the rocky terrain, creating a soothing and mesmerizing sight. You can relax by the riverbank, enjoy the sounds of the flowing water, and even dip your toes in if you're feeling adventurous
The cafes near the river point serve tea and snacks, making it a perfect spot to enjoy refreshments while taking in the beautiful surroundings
Trails - Gallu Devi
Gallu Devi trail is a pleasant and accessible hike, covering about 3-4 kilometers and taking around 2-3 hours to complete. Starting from Naddi View Point, you'll walk through beautiful forests, see small streams, and spot different birds if you're a birdwatching enthusiast. The trail leads to the Gallu Devi Temple, a peaceful place dedicated to Goddess Gallu Devi, where you can also enjoy stunning mountain views. Just wear comfortable clothes and shoes, carry some water and snacks, and remember to be respectful of the environment.
Kora Circuit
The Kora Circuit in McLeod Ganj is a special pilgrimage route for Buddhists. It involves walking around the hill where the Dalai Lama's residence and monastery are located, making it a holy journey.
The path is about an hour's walk from the main temple gate. It's a peaceful trail away from the noise of the town, passing through beautiful deodar forests. Along the way, you'll see colorful prayer flags, both big and small. Buddhists believe that these flags carry their prayers when they flutter in the wind.
If you get tired, there are benches where you can rest, and many older people sit down to pray. The path also has prayer wheels in different sizes, made of metal or wood. Some look like they've come from Tibet, and others are quite tall. Remember, when you spin these prayer wheels, it's always done from the right side.
The Kora Circuit is an important part of McLeod Ganj's spiritual life, offering a quiet and meaningful experience amid its natural beauty.
